Not Your Grandma’s Traffic Strategy

You probably already know that commenting on other people’s blogs has a big benefit associated with it: SEO! The more incoming links you generate, the more it helps towards increasing the PageRank of your site. Which means your site shows up higher on Google for your keywords.

But what you won’t hear anyone tell you, is there is another HUGE benefit from doing this: Incredibly Warm & Targeted Free Traffic!

No, this is not the same kind of free traffic as what you would get from a “exit popup” that pops up on a totally un-related, made-for-adsense or “pimped out with affiliate ads” web site. You know the one I’m talking about – where the entire existence of the web site is do drive affiliate traffic for high paying keywords – especially, with the most popular trend in the IM niche being “review web sites” that drive affiliate traffic during these big “guru” launches. But more on that another day 🙂

For now, let’s talk about the high quality of traffic you can get from commenting on the right blogs – blogs that are very popular in your niche (or related to your niche), blogs that are written by trusted and respected folks (think Seth Godin, Brian Clark), blogs that have a rabid fan following and massive readership (think Shoemoney, John Chow).

Remember: This is not about SEO. This is about using commenting strategies to generate warm, targeted leads for your business

Imagine getting hundreds of free clicks to your web site from a blog that is in the same (or related) niche as your site. Wonderfully warm traffic, from people who are really curious and interested in knowing more about your offer, rather than someone who got tricked into visiting your site.

HUGE difference.

I could write an entire ebook just about how to use “Commenting” on blogs & forums to get incredibly warm free traffic, that will result in a very high conversion rate for your sales copy. But no time to write an ebook today :-).

I will be going into more details about these strategies in forthcoming posts, but let’s stick to the bullet points for now.

Generating Leads By Commenting

  • As big product launches become more and more frequent and popular, you will see more businesses and product owners doing such “slingshot” launches, where a lot of focus, attention, money and effort is put into driving a large amount of traffic to a site within a short amount of time (usually between 1-2 weeks max). So don’t forget to comment on launch blogs.
  • Always leave comments that are very detailed, very relevant, and totally in context. I would even say, write up a mini blog post right there within the comments section. The more you make sense to the other readers, the more traffic you will generate.
  • It’s almost like you have one single comment to say something smart, something witty, funny, intelligent, something that advances the discussion, something that will simply make everyone want to know more about you by clicking on your name (which is usually linked to your web site).
  • Observe other comments and make sure that the names are actually linked to the commenter’s web site. If you don’t see anyone’s name being linked, then maybe the host doesn’t allow it. See if someone else has left a link in their signature.
  • So don’t forget to leave relevant do it during the “guru” launches, but don’t forget to to it for your main niche-related product launches.
  • If you are serious about your e-business, then you already know who the experts are in your niche. Participate in their forums more often, and piggy-back off their reputation and their traffic. You are basically getting to ride their coat-tails in building your reputation on their blog. So make sure you say something relevant and smart.
  • Comment early, comment often. Don’t wait for a few days until the blog comments have built up. Most blog comments are “first-come, first-shown”. So the early commenters get the most readers.
  • Have you successfully used a product that would be of great help to others in the same niche as yours? Example: In the IM niche, telling this to someone: “If you are in the market for an autoresponder system, and if you’re looking at Aweber, then you’re better off signing up with Profollow.com . This is Jeff Walker’s private label of Aweber, and is basically the exact same service, but priced much lower than Aweber.” (this may not be true for very long, of course, because from what I heard, Aweber is forcing Jeff W to increase his pricing too).
  • Do you have a special tip for others in your niche that you could leave as a comment in a relevant discussion on someone else’s blog? Like… “Most autoresponder services charge a “per subscriber” rate. And this count also includes people who have previously unsubscribed from your list. So you’re basically paying for useless emails. So be sure to completely delete unsubscribed users from your list. In some cases, if the count of unsubscribes is large, then you may have to get the autoresponder folks to do this for you”.

1) Download and install “AutoHotKey

2) Save the above file to your desktop.

The Buttinsky Report: How I Make $970 Per Hour Using Twitter

Many years ago, I had this gay colleague at work.

I loved the guy. He was extremely funny, a non-stop talker, and very smart.

Any time someone interrupted his “chatter”, he would loudly reprimand them by calling them “Hey Buttinsky… “, meaning to say “could you shut up over there and not interrupt?”, but in a very friendly way of course.

Many years later, twitter comes up with the same concept… being able to do an “@” and send a message to anyone with an account on Twitter. It was like having a direct connection to some of the most popular and influential folks online!

Even though I’ve probably been on twitter since 2008 (??), only in mid 2009 did I really begin to understand the true power of Twitter.

But, before I get into the finer details and about my “Aha” moment, let us get this out of the way first….

How I make $970/hour using Twitter!

That’s what “The Buttinsky Report” is all about.

Very cool and very powerful stuff.

And this video is free for you because you’re a T…. T…. T…. Techiiie! 🙂

S3MediaVault Amazon S3 WordPress Plugin (a $97 value)

I recently launched a *very* powerful WordPress Plugin for playing videos hosted on Amazon S3, called S3MediaVault.

It not only plays the videos, but can also make sure that those videos can be played ONLY from your own web site.

It effectively creates “Expiring Links” for Amazon S3 videos.

Use it in combination with DigitalAccessPass.com and you’ve got one helluva secure membership site that beautifully delivers content only to authorized members!

And now you get it for free, because you’re a T…T…T…Techiiie!!!

[ NOTE: All 3 sites MUST belong to YOU. No JV’s, no client web sites. All 3 domains must individually belong to you. ]

ClickBank Download Protector (a $34.95 value)

Till date, this is my #1 selling script at http://MyWebmasterInABox.com/download_protector_clickbank.php .

Only when you see the number of copies this script sells month after consistent month, you truly start to see how many people use ClickBank as their payment processor – especially the noobs! 🙂

Of course, if you’re using http://DigitalAccessPass.com (DAP), then you don’t need this script, as similar functionality is already built into DAP.

But if you’re not using DAP, and wish to set up protected downloadable files real quick on your site, using ClickBank, then this is just the script you need.

This script sells every day for $34.95.

And now you get it for free, because you’re a T…T…T…Techiiie!!!

Mail Merger Enterprise v1.0 (a $97 value)

This is a script I never directly sold through my web site.

It is basically a very powerful “Mail-Merge” script, that you can use to send out an unlimited number of personalized emails to your list (all you need is a CSV export of any 3rd party list, with the email address as the first column).

Works very much like the “Mail Merge” feature in your word processor. You enter template names in your email body (like FIRSTNAME, EMAIL, etc), and then you specify which column of your CSV data maps to which template variable.

You can see what the GUI of this script looks like by going here.

It’s two “light” cousins (Mail Merger scripts) are available for sale at http://MyWebmasterInABox.com , but this more powerful version was never offered for sale at the site.

I have on occasion sold it directly to my newsletter subscribers for $97.

I have always primarily used it as a premium freebie.

And now it is yours to download for free, simply because you are a T… T… T… Techiiie! 🙂

Slidein Popup Script (a $97 value)

This was one of my biggest scripts back in the days.

I’m talking about 2003, when I was churning out scripts like there’s no tomorrow 🙂

I sold hundreds of copies of this script, before a series of events led me to completely lose the script, the web site on which it was hosted, and even the domain name.

I’ve sold this script for as much as $97, and as “low” as $67.

And now you get it for free, because you’re a T…T…T…Techiiie!!!

phpAccess: htaccess Password Manager

Here is a never-sold-before script that started it all…

This is a .htaccess password file manager that lets you create a login prompt like the one you see at http://www.MyWebmasterInABox.com/freescripts/

You can use it to create one username/password for all (like I’ve done at the above link), or you could create unique sets of usernames and passwords for unlimited users, which is how I have done it at http://NBLEB.com/bonuses/ , where I manually create a unique username and password for everyone who buys my book.

But that’s a manual process, and a pain in the you-know-where, which is why I ended up creating Digital Access Pass .

And today you’re getting it for free.

But you, my friend, can download the phpAccess htaccess Password Manager for free , because you are a T…T…T… Techiiie!

Enjoy 🙂

Google SiteMap Generator For WordPress

Q: What is the best blog software out there?

A: WordPress!

I have been using WordPress for maybe about 8+ years now, and have found it to be the very best blog software available.

A number of my own sites, including my blog at RavisRants.com is powered by WordPress.

Yes, there are others that might get a mention when you talk about “content management applications”.

But when it comes to the community support, number of plugins and themes available, extensibility and ease of customization, WordPress beats them all hands-down.

So I wanted to tell you about a PHP-based Sitemap Generation tool for WordPress that I use myself, to generate the sitemap.xml for my
WordPress blogs.

The installation is very simple:  Just upload the PHP script to the plugins folder, activate it through the admin control panel (“plugins”), and then through “Options > SiteMap” link, you can either generate the  sitemap.xml and sitemap.xml.gz (gzip file) on demand, if not, the script will generate it for you everytime you add, edit or delete a blog post.

Very simple to install and works like a charm.

The script can also automatically notify Google of the change to your sitemap.

However, I still recommend that you first sign-up for a Google Webmaster account at http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/

Add your site, verify that you’re the owner by uploading a file (you’ll see how), and then once  you’ve updated the sitemap on your site using the script mentioned above, log in to your
webmaster account, select the web site for which you just updated the sitemap, “check” the sitemap for that site and then click on “Resubmit Selected”.

That will instruct Google’s robots to come spidering your sitemap.

Web Alarm

WebAlarm: Reminding you of the more important things in life (like turning off the the oven 😉

Why WebAlarm?

Well, I originally wrote it for myself.

There were any number of times when I had to remind myself to do something in a few minutes – like:

  • Turn off the stove in 2 minutes
  • Remove the bread or cookies from the oven
  • Call someone back in 5 minutes
  • Take the clothes out of the drier
  • Go do the chore that my wife assigned me (because for the 10th time I just told her, “In a minute!” 🙂

And so on.

And most of the times, I end up forgetting, because looking for the nightly alarm clock and setting it for just a few minutes, is not very practical.

And most of the times, I’m working on my laptop, and wouldn’t want to get off my behind in the first place 🙂

So, I thought, why not have a web-based alarm, that will somehow interrupt me after a set period of time?

I sat down and coded it in about 1/2 hour, midi file, page copy and all.

Hope you found it interesting, if not useful 😉

And don’t forget to TURN UP your speakers when you set the WebAlarm 🙂

Google Adwords Keyword Optimizer

This is a tool that can allow you to quickly optimize your Adwords Keywords by adding ‘double quotes’ and ‘square brackets’ to your keywords.

It also de-duplicates keywords. So you can paste your existing keyword list from your Adwords account into this, and you can get a de-duplicated list with the different keyword options added to it.

You can also use it for new keywords, so that you can keep brainstorming new keywords without worrying about creating 3 versions of each keyword.

GoogleSplash Splash Page PHP Script

This is a really exciting script that you are getting access to: GoogleSplash.

Back in the days, when I was young and naive, I sold it as a stand-alone script for $47 at GoogleSplash.com . I had seen many products with the name “Google” being advertised on Google itself, so I said, what the heck, I will get a domain too. And I even advertised this script on Google Adwords.

But one day, someone from Google came knocking on my door and said that I couldn’t use the word “Google” in a technical product and advertise it on Adwords. They respectfully asked me to transfer the domain over to them. And of course, I did it – right away! Who wants to mess with them, right? That too, knowing that I was on shaky ground!

Anyway, that was the only little exciting sidebar about this product.

And today you’re getting it for free.

I won’t go into any more detail on this page, but you can read the entire sales page by visiting this page and see what it does.

It still sells very well at $47 over at MyWebmasterInABox.com.

But you, my friend, can download GoogleSplash by clicking here , because you are a T…T…T… Techiiie!

Enjoy 🙂
